    Hello,

I’ll likely have several simple questions as I switch to Pods from CPTUI, so thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

    It’s greatly appreciated. ??

First, is there a simple way to use a shortcode to add a feed on a page where all recent/new pods will show? I’m using this as a way to post player updates on a sports page and there will be a couple hundred players that will have regular updates. Having a way to funnel several of the most recent updates into one landing space is the goal for this.

Thanks again for any help you can provide.

Or would this be accomplished more easily by creating a category for all of these pods and using the category to create the feed?

    Hello @l4sn
Please take a look at this page get a better understanding of Pods and it’s features: https://docs.pods.io/faqs/what-can-you-build-with-pods/
    And especially the “Grow” video!

    So…

There’s not a simple answer? lol

I’ve been looking through your shortcode page to try and get a better understanding of it’s capabilities, but I still need a point in the right direction if it exists.

I intend to have separate pods for each player so that my writers can go directly to that player, post an update for that player, and then have those updates listed on the individual player pages, the team pages, within the home page and on a splash page.

I’ve had several people recommend this to me as a solution to get away from CPTUI as it is rather cumbersome and slows down my site speed to a great degree.

Just got to the part about not doing any consulting, which I’m assuming means you are not interested in answering simple ‘help’ questions, which is all I was really looking for.

Could of just posted that. Would have saved a little time for both of us, and I honestly wouldn’t have been offended.

    Have a good one.

    Hi @l4sn

The reason I forwarded you to that page is so you can get more familiar with Pods.
Sure, I can look at your specific case and just plainly provide a shortcode you need but that doesn’t help you or me in any way. We are not here to provide custom solutions for free, we are here you help you learn how Pods works and get further with your projects.
We’ve created these video’s and docs so users can get themselves familiar with Pods and it’s features before trying to fix things trial-and-error, which probably involves a lot of support.

So, as for the simple answer, yes you can! ?? But in detail the way “how” to do this is different for each case.
    In the basics:
    – Use the shortcode parameters to fetch your items.
    – Use Pods Templates and assign these in the shortcode (parameter template) to display these items.

    More info here: https://docs.pods.io/displaying-pods/pods-shortcode/
Also see examples at the bottom of this page.

    Cheers, Jory
