    Hi.

I had a problem during an update, so I wanted to restore a previous copy of the plugins.

The process returned a completion message with all the correct steps except the third. It didn’t let me download the process log (page not found).

When I go back to the web administration, there isn’t plugins. In the FTP there aren’t plugins in plugins-old folder either.

Something like this had never happened to me, but I find it very serious that a restoration deletes the data without having confirmed that it has made the corresponding copy.

    A disaster!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

To help us work out the cause of your problem, can you please send us a copy of the restoration log?
You can find this log in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory of your site via FTP.
You can send the log file and copy the contents into an online tool (such as https://pastebin.com/ )

    Best Wishes,

Fortunately I was able to retrieve all the information after reinstalling the plugin, try again, and then restore the database too.
But I think it is important to review the restoration process to avoid these situations. A novice user would have had no idea how to proceed next.

I don’t have that restore log.

When starting the process, an error appeared because I had not deleted the plugins-old folder from another previous restoration. I have a log that reflects that.

After using the button to delete that directory, the failed restore started. It is not reflected in any of the logs I have today. I guess that’s why I couldn’t download it at the end of the process.

    Hi,

Glad you were able to restore successfully. You would have been shown a message to delete the old folders first if have old files within the “wp-content” and should be able to delete them easily using the “Delete old directories” button from your WP dashboard.

If in case you encounter issues or need more information, just visit our FAQs page here https://updraftplus.com/frequently-asked-questions/ and we also have short video tutorials from our Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/UpdraftPlus/videos.
