All plugins deactivated due to an error – files do not exist

    So, I stupidly went and updated without backing up my site. My site looks fine, but all the plugins are missing. Every plugin said “deactivated due to an error – files do not exist.” Yet, I cannot install the plugin again. I get a message – “could not create directory.”

    Bluehost solved it for me…..they were deactivated within Bluehost and not visible in the WP admin.
