All plugin auto updates got disabled by itself

    Since I last looked at my plug-ins about a month ago ALL are now set to not auto update – while all where set to auto update (by me) before.

    The option to select auto update is now also invisible

    If I check all plugins and select “Update” and then hit “apply” the checkmarks disappear and nothing else happens.

    In the Site Health Status section I see this entry:
    WordPress version 6.5.4 Performance
    Unable to check if any new versions of WordPress are available.

    I have not installed any new plugins or changed anything at all since I last looked when everything was in order.

    Is my system hacked?

    I figured it out. the auto updated plugin Disable WordPress Update Notifications did the deed. after disabling it all went back to normal.
