I’m posting this mystery here rather than in Plug-Ins because I think it’s connected to WP 4.3, not the plug-ins themselves. Since the upgrade, my Yet Another Related Posts Plug-In tells me there are “no related posts.” And when I try to use the Jetpack “top posts” plug-in instead, I’m told there are no top posts because I don’t have any traffic. (I have a few hundred visitors a day.)

Any thoughts? What changed in 4.3 to set this off?

    Thank you, friends!

Do you mean Jetpack’s Top Posts & Pages widget? If so, where do you have that on your site at the moment? I don’t see it.

I haven’t used YARPP in years, so just focussing on Jetpack for now.

Hi! Sorry! I turned it off because it looked silly.

But I just turned it back on so that the problem is visible. The Jetpack “top posts & pages” widget shows “There are no posts to display.”

I’ve fixed some caching issues that were broken by the WP upgrade, but now everything seems to be working except Top Posts.

If you have any ideas, I’m very appreciative!

I see 1 there right now.

Just make sure that you have the widget set to display more than 1 post, and also please note that Top Posts and Pages by views are calculated from 24 to 48 hours of stats. They take a while to change.

You might also want to see if clearing your caching plugin or hosting provider cache again makes any improvement.

I’ve been doing some very methodical trouble-shooting and now I think this could possibly be a Jetpack issue. So I apologize if I’m now posting in the wrong place.

I looked at the site on a browser that wasn’t connected to my WordPress dashboard. Like you, from the outside, I can see only one Top Post.

Weird thing: The only post listed is my most recent post–which is a simple message to readers about the site slow-down since 4.3. This post isn’t even in the top 10 most visited pages and posts during the past 24-48 hours.

I’ve had thousands of visitors in the past week, according to Google Analytics and Jetpack stats. So what is the missing link between the stats and the Jetpack Top Posts widget?

If you see anything useful from your end, please let me know. Or if I should go ask someone at Jetpack, let me know.

I’ve cleared my caches at Cloudflare and the supercacher from my hosting provider, so everything you see is the latest.

Thanks so much! As vexing is the recent update has proven for my site, I admire everyone working on WordPress enormously. My labor of love website couldn’t run without your labor of love WP software.

On second thought, the other remaining problem on the site is more serious, and I think I’m going to spend the weekend trouble-shooting it. So for the time being, I’m marking this one resolved and moving on with the next thing on the list. Thanks!

    You’re welcome!

Maybe fixing the other issue will fix this. If not, please let us know!
