We’ve double-checked this and were not able to reproduce the described issue. Also, the latest release (v.3.10.0) doesn’t include any database settings related changes.
To investigate the issue, please, provide the following details:
1. Are you sure that the settings were cleared after the plugin update? Maybe you’ve removed the plugin before the update with the “Uninstall WP Mail SMTP” option enabled. This option removes all WP Mail SMTP data upon plugin deletion.
2. How did you perform the update (manual ZIP installation, in the WordPress dashboard, or some external tool)?
3. Which plugin version have you been using before the update?
4. Which mailer have you been using?
5. Can you check if all plugin settings were deleted or some particular?
6. Can you see the previous Debug Events (under the Tool -> Debug Events tab) or they were cleared as well if you had such?
