All my page and comment links stopped working?

  • Hi Folks:

    My data and admin panel seems to work fine, but all my external links are broken? No idea how to fix this…

    I was unable to log into my blog (just a blank screen with no error message) so I downloaded all wordpress code to my PC, deleted the entire blog directory/subdirecories from my server, and finally re-uploaded all my wordpress code back to my server. That fixed my login, my blog main page works fine, and I can even log in and edit my old posts and other content pages.

    BUT, now when I click on any of my blog links from the public view, all the permalinks and comments come up with page 404 errors. Any ideas on how to refresh all these links?

    OK,

    I solved this problem myself after reading other forum posts found by searching “permalink reset”. To fix this type of problem, I went to my admin permalink panel and changed the permalink format to some other format. I found that the new permalink structure worked fine. So then I went back to the admin permalink settings page and reset my parmalink structure back to my original format.

    Permalinks restored.

    BTW: I discovered that my admin panel blocks me from entering my name and password when a particular plugin is activated, followed by logging out. To log back in I normally rename that particular plugin directory to deactivate it, or the entire plugin directory to deactive all plugins. This trick failed this time, so I took the more drastic measure of reinstalling all the wordpress blog code. Neat that www.remarpro.com’s code and database structure is so rugged.
