All media disappeared

  • Hi,

    I moved (using scp) my entire blog folder to a new server.

    It is in the same location in the server. I am still pointing to the same database etc.

    Everything works – the site, the admin etc … except none of my media are showing.

    The url that it uses is

    myblog.com/media/london.jpg

    But I can’t see any media folder on the original server – nor can I see the london.jpg file anywhere on the old or new server (using find . -name london.jpg)

    Where is my media?
    Why didn’t it survive the move?

  • Hi,

    If you didn’t change your default media folder, your media should be located under the directory [root_WP]/wp-content/uploads and not [root_WP]/media.
    You can also try to locate the folder through FTP on your server.

    Hmm strange. I can see it for the other two blogs I moved – but not for the one I was testing.
