    Hello @aksteve ,

Did you make any changes to the server, for example added SSL or something similar? Could you please go to dashboard > Settings > General and make sure that WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) are both with https protocol?

Also, could you please go to a Download that does not work and make a screenshot of the Downloadable Files/Versions section, namely the File URL(s) field? ( if you are not comfortable with that please paste here the first part of the File URL you’ve set there ).

    Kind Regards!

We did do recent migration to a new server. The General Settings are fine. Some of the downloads still work and some don’t.

    See here – https://www.loom.com/share/f9ced0fb94db411ebedcc01e9b7983f4

As you will see they do have different URLS. I do not know why. They use to work. Removing “dlm_uploads” from the URL of the one that doesn’t work, does not fix it.

I just need to get this fixed. Hope you can help.

    Thanks.

    Hey Steve,

I think the problem lies in the protocol, the one with the http. Could you please change the protocol to https and try again and let us know if that worked for you?

The dlm_uploads from the URL is OK, it means that the file was uploaded to the plugin’s protected folder located inside the uploads folder.

    Kind Regards!

Actually, I think I screwed up that video. The one I have marked as working – DOESN’T work. and vice versa.
And when I changed the form to http to https, it broke the link. Then when I changed it back it remained broken.

This form has https and dlm_uploads in the file name and doesn’t work. https://www.loom.com/share/f9bcef96af4b4b9c8673d2ff4d9fcbc4

This page is all broken – https://www.doyonutilities.com/publications/
I checked most of the links and they all have “/wp-content/uploads/dlm_uploads/” in the file name.

This page all works – https://www.doyonutilities.com/tariffs/.
Again, I check most links and they all have “/wp-content/uploads/” WITHOUT the /dlm_uploads in the file name.

It appears that links with https:// and without dlm_uploads are the only ones working.

This is a mess. Do I have to do 100’s of uploads manually now to fix this. Ugh ??

    Hey Steve,

You said you did a recent migration. What type was the old server, same as the new one (
for example still NGINX or was it Apache – seems new server is NGINX )? Is the SSL correctly installed? Also, could you check that the folder from wp-content/uploads/dlm_uploads is not empty and it contains the files you are trying to download?

    Kind Regards!

Yes, it went from Apache to NGINX. Would that cause an issue?
And oh my, the dlm_uploads folder is empty. I never would have guessed that. Can I just add docs directly to the folder or do I have to reupload them via the plugin?

    Your help is much appreciated.

    Hey Steve,

If the URL in the Downloadable Files/Versions section of the Downloads are present you can directly add the docs to the folder, else you will need to upload the docs via the plugin, or, if they are public, via the Media Library. Let us know if, after uploading the docs, everything works OK.

    Kind regards!
