I checked today my site and all links in all profiles are going to #.

I have all my profiles to “public”, and it was working, at least, 1 month ago (I didn’t check the site recently).

I tried some configurations, updating the page, and everything occurred to me, but nothing worked.

    Some insight?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

The first thing to try is to flush the WordPress Permalink rules. To do this, simply navigate to the WordPress permalinks admin page. Make no changes. Merely visiting the page will cause WordPress to recreate the permalink rewrite rules.

The second thing to try is to rule out a plugin conflict. Here’s a link to a tutorial:

A setting that needs to be checked. Please navigate to the Connections Settings admin page and click the Advanced tab. Scroll to the Permalink Slugs sections. These slugs must be unique and must not be a reserved permalink slug used by WordPress or a Custom Post type utilized by a theme. If you changed any of these, I suggest changing them back to their defaults. I mention this because it appears you change the Category slug from cat to categoria. If this is set to be the same for the WordPress Categories, that will cause a conflict.

I hope this helps; please let me know.

Done everything, checked everything, and yet it doesn’t work.

Also, although the internal links doesn’t work, the most strange is that direct links to social networks also doesn’t link (and those are not affected by the Rewrite rules).

I installed the “Rewrite Rules Inspector” plugin, and did not find anything that may block each other.

Also, use the Troubleshooting at the Health Check to deactivate everything, and using the Twenty-Twenty andd, only the COnnections plugin (the Core one), and everything else deactivated, and changed all the default WordPress rules (permalink + category + tags) and, don’t work… all links send me to “#”.

BTW: I’m using nginx (not Apache) but, it’s been working well until the latest updates.

Ahhh… I did not notice that when I looked at the page last night.

Here’s the thing, the social network, and website links are only output as entered into Connection. So something outside of Connections is altering the links when rendering the page content. My best guess something is hooking into the WordPress the_content filter. I’m guessing this hook because links outside of the post content seem to be fine such as the submit page and the category links in the sidebar. The category links in the Category widgets use the exact same code as the category links on the Entry Card. This also indicates something altering the post content.

I know you said you tried only the Twenty Twenty theme with only Connections activated, but it is possible something is changing all the URLs in the post content.

Try this test. Add a new page to the site with some lorem ipsum text and within that text, add a link. I suspect that the link will also be affected. Let me know.

    Same

    https://www.wpprofesional.com/test/

I set up the Twenty-twentyOne theme, disabled all plugins except Connections + extras and PHP OPcache (I tried with and without it)

Created the test page. In the editor, I see all the links also go to #.

I you want, I can sent, privately, Admin access to the site.

The same thing happened to me when I updated to Connections version 10.4.11. I even tested it on my staging site and now both staging and live sites do not work.

All the links now link go to #.

    Apologies for the trouble!

I have identified and corrected the issue. I plan on releasing a maintenance release by the end of the day tomorrow (Wednesday, EST).

One immediate solution would be to use the [connections] shortcode instead of the Directory Block.

    I apologize for the inconvenience!

I just pushed out the update that should correct the issue with the Directory Block changing the links to a #.

    Again, apologies for the trouble!
