  • Use JetPack’s module. When you start adding those security plugins 9/10 times you will mess your site up.

    Thank you

I have been using All In One WP Security & Firewall for several months now and it has proved very stable. Amongst other things, it allows to change login access from wp-login to whatever you choose.

I also use WordFence, another WordPress security plugin with complementary functionalities. WordFence allows me to see who attempted to login into my site. Renaming from wp-login to something else stopped these attacks. WordFence has a functionality that allows me to view all recent attempts to login to my site.

I have jetpacked installed, but I am not using the protect module. Since I discovered Jetpack, I tend to try its modules before loading other plug-ins. But sometimes other plugins offer more options.
