I have turned on maintenance mode in All in one wp security and firewall plugin and logged out and now I can’t log back in. I keep getting the maintenance message. I have tried using my url/wp-admin.php, wp-login.php, secret word and nothing gets me into the dashboard.

I have two users set up as administrator for safety so I can keep one logged in all the time.

I have reset the All in one wp security and firewall plugin settings using the reset plugin and still get the maintenance message.

All my plugins are up to date as is wordpress – 5.7. I am using theme twenty twenty one.

Hi, do you have a cache plugin installed in your site? Or does your host run a caching system in your server?

Thanks for your reply.I do have a caching plugin. I deactivated my caching plugin but it didn’t make any difference so I deactivated all plugins except the All in One WP Security plugin. I was then able to set maintenance mode on, logout and log back in again. By process of elimination I found that the Two Factor Authentication plugin caused the problem. I deleted it and re-activated all other plugins.

All was working well until I turned Maintenance mode off and then I was still getting the maintenance mode message. I purged the cache and it is now all good. I have deleted the caching plugin because I would have had to remember to refresh every time turned the maintenance mode off or on and I could have been locked out of my site.

Just a further note on this. If I have maintenance mode turned on and login as administrator from a device connected to wifi, I have no problems and can login using my secret word.

If I try to login as administrator from my iPhone (not connected to wifi) I have to login with my-site/wp-login.php otherwise I go straight to the maintenance message without the login screen being shown..

I am glad you managed to solve your issue ??

Did you by any chance whitelist your IP address? If you did, then this is probably why you have to login using the following URL my-site/wp-login.php from a device (not connected to your wifi).

    Kind regards

    Same here.
If I setup maintenance mode I cannot login from the renamed login page.
I can access the page but when I insert the credential it just refreshes.
    I have no cache plugins..

@i_robert, can you create a new support thread.

    Thank you

Sure, I was going to do it but I was afraid of double posting.
Can you delete my 2 posts here?
