    Good day,

I am having problems with your plugin, I had it installed and was working fine, but when I went to do an update, it errored out and was removed from my plugins automatically. I tried re-updating/installing, but it kept failing until I renamed the folder in FTP. Even then, I have still had problems.

I’ve been ‘trying’ to work with GoDaddy on this, but they keep saying its a plugin issue. I deactivated ALL plugins and it STILL would not install.

I know the problem is not with your plugin, but do you happen to have any ideas what might be causing this problem?

I hadn’t had any problems really at all until I switched to the managed wordpress plan, so, my feeling is it is a GoDaddy issue, but just to be thorough, I thought I would ask here just the same.

    Thanks!
    Dennis

Sounds like you know it’s a GoDaddy issue and are looking for confirmation.
I can confirm that it sounds like it’s most likely a GoDaddy issue. I recommend switching to a better host.

Thank you very much Michael for getting back so quickly, I appreciate it.

Honestly, I am not 100% sure, but yes, it certainly seems like it. But I want to be sure that no one else has had any similar issues or if there is any configuration setting that might need to be tweaked or something like that.

I definitely happens with All in One SEO though and not others. The only other thing that it could possibly be is the PHP setting which I already adjusted. Is your plugin very DB heavy?

I just want to be able to get your plugin back on my site, it has been very helpful and right now, I’m blind on any traffic that is coming in… I don’t like that at all.

Any insight you might have as to what might cause your plugin to hang while installing/updating would be greatly appreciated!

Believe me, I’ve been looking for a better host, but have been hoping I didn’t ‘need’ to make that drastic of a step yet.

Thank you once again for your time and speedy response Michael.

This isn’t like anything we’ve ever heard of. AIOSEOP is not “db heavy”.

OK. I appreciate your assistance once again.

    Have a great day!

    Dennis,

I’m a heavy AIOSEO user – I’ve probably installed it on 60 websites or more over the last 10-years and I’ve never heard of this happen anywhere. Not that it can’t happen, but I’ve never heard of it happening.

The only thing I can suggest is to download from the WordPress page for the plugin, upload via FTP, then activate from the plugin dashboard, instead of trying to fetch it through the WordPress plugin admin.

I haven’t used GoDaddy’s managed WordPress services, because I simply think in my last interaction with it, it’s interface and implementation is an inferior product to WP Engine or other WordPress managed hosting companies. That was last year. Things could have changed by now, but none of my clients are on GoDaddy today. In fact, in July, I was asked yet again to clean another hacked site hosted with that provider. That’s not to say hacked sites can’t happen elsewhere, but it’s usually GoDaddy that my client’s come to me with problems.

I’m sorry you’re facing this conundrum and I wish I had a better answer for you, but from where I sit, AIOSEO has never had any issue with installation in my world. And, I work with this plugin daily and on many, many websites.

Thank you very much for your input Tony, I appreciate it. Yeah, I agree that the Managed WordPress plan has been problematic and will be migrating to a different plan this weekend.

    Thanks again!
    Dennis
