• Hi

    Look I like the plugin very much. I just don’t think it’s fare that people are under the impression that the plugin is free. The author’s Google Adsense ID and YPN ID get’s replaced with yours once every 5th or 6th time the ads appear. That means that I and other users are “donating” almost 20% of our Adsense earnings to the author.

    I think it must be stated clear on the download page.

    Linewbie, it’s a great plugin but I think it’s on the dodgy side. I see that around 600 blogs are already making you some good money.

    Kind regards,
    Albert

  • There was another plugin like that and it got banned by G. because of violating the Adsense TOS!

    Yes I see thanks.

    Do you think it should be reported or will that be unfair?

    No comment from Linewbie. Guess I’ll report it then.

    Where in his coding does he place his PUB number for Google.
    Surely with reporting him, which I agree with, we can manuallychange his part he is enforcing.

    Has the Feedback to Google on this been actioned?

    Found his part in the php file.
    Undecided to Pull out or de-activate plugin outright, probably latter out of principle.

    Yes I’ve notified Google and WordPress about this. Neither has come back to me yet. I’ve replaced his ID from the code with mine. I think it’s a good idea if you and others also notify Google, Yahoo and WordPress about this. Thanks for your feedback.

    I’ve got 79 websites using this free plug-in and another 100 planned. I cannot express how displeased I am finding out that it has been siphoning off my revenue while leaving the impression it is free.

    I would have gladly just paid $15.00 up front as is it a well thought out plug-in and if the developer assists me in getting this related problems fixed I would pay the $15.00.

    This message is to warn others of what to expect if you use the plug-in and edit the plugin code, BIG HEADACH.

    If I make any edit to my sites postings or static pages I now get an error message as well as the built in WordPress HTML Editor no longer works properly. It mixes up the non printing codes and print. I have 79 websites with this problem as a result of the author not being straight up front.

    If anybody has work arounds for this I would appreciate their sharing it with the rest of us caught in this situation.

    The error message is below.

    “Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/websitename/public_html/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-adsense-and-ypn/all-in-one-adsense-and-ypn.php:1) in /home/websitename/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 770”

    I have seen it also say on line 880.

    Thank you.

    Yes I agree completely. I would gladly pay for a plugin I need.

    I’m no programmer, but have you tried just to replace the author’s pub with yours in the plugin editor?

    The donation code starts at line 649 in the all-in-one-adsense-and-ypn.php file:

    /* please keep these code to donate a small percentage of
      your ad revenue to support future development of this plugin, thanks */
      if($randd=="2"){
      	$client_ypn = '1649076901';
      	$channel_ypn = '64746';
      	$client = '2941637122112958';
      	$channel = '1838017730';
      }

    It begins at line 636 with the function:

    $randd = mt_rand(1,12);

    Maybe the author is willing to accept a donation and in exchange allow us to remove or modify that part.

    Yes Albert I have and the sites still create the header errors. Looking back just changing the id would have worked. It seems
    that if the code is changed then there is somthing else needed.
    Whatever I’m moving on.

    I have now converted all my sites to the Adsense Manager add-in. It works pretty good, the author appears to be honest. The one thing I liked about the all in one adsense was it required no codes in your posts and randomized the placement.

    Hello people. Sorry about all the confusion. Yes there is donation code in my script and you are more than welcome to edit it out. I just thought if people can’t be bothered to read/modify the source code to suit your own needs, then you should probably be paying for my time to write and test these codes for you. I spent over a month on these codes, mostly testing, and still continue to spend time on this, I will have a new version up shortly, with the option to turn donation off in the control panel, everyone happy? ??

    Btw, the percentage my ad will show up is 8.3%, or exactly once every 12 page view.

    Thanks for getting back to us Linewbie.

    Yes I agree, there’s a lot of time involved in creating a plugin like you have. I also think you should get paid for it. But there’s a difference in giving the impression that it’s free when it’s not, and sell it like others are doing with their plugins.

    Look at WordPress Affiliate Pro. Also a great plugin. The current price for that plugin is $97. It’s a lot of money but people are willing to pay for it because it saves them so much time. If that author told you that it was free but every once and a while put his affiliate ID in the place of yours, it would be stealing.

    The same goes for All In One Adsense and YPN. Most people have no programming skills and therefore it would be pointless for them to even look at the code you wrote. All they know is that they can use it for free and that’s it. While they are working very hard to attract visitors etc., they’re unaware that 8% or 15% or whatever are taken from them.

    Having a option in the control panel to turn donation of is nice, but it has to be made clear on the download page that such a function is there, because we know that the default function is going to be On. The sad thing is that there are thousands of other clueless people who is and will still run the old version and lose money on a daily basis.

    You took a lot of money from a lot of people. No matter how you look at it, it’s wrong.

    Yes you are right Albert, but I thought it was fun for a while to see if people actually read or modify the source code. Anyway the option is in the new version now, to turn the donation completely off by putting 0 in the box. Have fun with your blogs!

    AS OF 7/20/09 THE CURRENT DOWNLOAD OF YPN ROTATES IN LINEWBIE’S GOOGLE PUB CODE BY DEFAULT!

    THE PLUGIN’S OPTION PAGE HAS A BLANK BOX YOU CAN PUT A NUMBER FOR A PERCENTAGE OF TIMES YOU WANT HIS CODE TO APPEAR FOR A DONATION. BASED ON THE WORDING ONE IS LED TO BELIEVE THAT IF LEFT BLANK THE CODE WILL NOT ROTATE IN, BUT IT DOES!!!! I DON’T KNOW WHAT PERCENTAGE. HOPEFULLY IF YOU INPUT “0” IT WILL NOT ROTATE IN AT ALL!

    BE WARNED. IF YOU HAVE A BUSY BLOG EVEN A 5% ROTATION COULD WIND UP COSTING YOU A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS/YEAR.
