After helping a friend move his site from Bluehost to Godaddy all the images are broken. Spent an hour on the phone with Godaddy and they said everything is pointed to the correct locations for uploads and no idea what could be wrong.

    Website is knickerbiker.com

  • Double check the wp-content/uploads folder, whether it is moved to the new host properly or not. Also check the permissions for this folder.

Godaddy said all the photos were in my uploads folder. If I go to FTP I see all the images. In Media Library they are all blank grey boxes when logged into wordpress

Set the 755 permission to uploads/ and all of it’s sub folders.

try activating the default wordpress themes and deactivating all plugins

There is also a similar problem on my website. I am following answer.

All permissions are 755 and tried deactivating all plugins and activated a default wordpress theme and still not showing

In the page https://www.knickerbiker.com/products/accessories/ I am able to see one image. It’s strange.

Can you please confirm that through FTP you can see the image Untitled-119×90.png at the location wp-content/uploads/2012/10/. If yes, download it to your local machine and see whether you can view the image or not.

I suspect that may be the image are not moved properly or corrupted.

So the solution to this problem is something to do with Filezilla when uploading files. Under TRANSFER TYPE you have to set it from ASCII to AUTO. I reuploaded all the website files and it is working now.
