I see that GTranslate javascript file is minified and important attributes are removed from it. It is caused by your cache plugin, please disable it to verify that it works fine without it and direct your question to your cache plugin support.

Awesome, thanks a million, that did it! I have reported this to the developers of the cache plugin and turned off minimising js files.
