    Hi,

We’ve been using Pods for a long time, and haven’t changed any settings or templates for a while. Suddenly, in our CPT pods, in any existing post, we cannot edit any of the fields (other than the wysiwyg field). If I put my cursor into one of the fields, I cannot type; I cannot delete or change the field content; I can highlight the text, in part or in full, but not change it in any way.

If I try to create a new post, the behavior is the same: I can put my cursor into the various fields, but I cannot enter anything in the field.

In the Pods admin, for example:
    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=pods&action=edit&id=566

When I click the “Save Pod” button – even without making any change – I’m shown an error:
    u is undefined

The plugin is up-to-date: version Version 2.8.3 (All plugins and WordPress core also up to date.)

No sign of any problem in debug.log

Any idea what the problem might be? Troubleshooting suggestions? Thanks!

    Hi @hommealone

Could you try to clear your Pods cache? (Pods > Settings > Clear Cache)

    Hi @keraweb

So sorry, your reply slipped past me!

I’ve deleted the Pods cache, but the problem remains. (I’ve also tried from within a Private Browsing window as another way to test caching-related issues, but the behavior is the same there.)

If this sounds like a cache issue, would you recommend that I try the “Pods Alternative Cache” plugin? (That is recommended in our Site Health screen.)

If I do install the “Pods Alternative Cache” plugin, how do I determine the right “Memcached Server host or IP address” and “Memcached Server PORT number”?

On the same site, I have no similar problem with core WordPress post types or with post types not created with Pods.

Any other troubleshooting or remediation suggestions?

    Hi @hommealone

    Sorry for my late reply!
I’m honestly not sure what could be wrong here, sounds like it could be a plugin conflict of some sort. Our new fields are React JS based.

Please see this page for more info on how to debug plugin conflicts:

For anyone with the same problem…

We found a plugin conflict with a now seemingly abandoned plugin, Scripts n Styles

    Scripts n Styles

Disabling that plugin fixed the problem we’d had in the Pods-created “edit [post type]” admin screens. We are again able to edit the posts; the fields are no longer locked.

On the Edit Pods screens, like /admin.php?page=pods&action=edit&id=123 if I try to “Save Pod” however, I still get the error message “u is undefined”. But it seems like this is a browser issue. I can save without error using Chrome.
