• I was using the old version on the plugin for a long time. I just updated it to the latest version and all fields disappeared.

    I rolled the plugin back to the previous version and the content is back.

    Not sure what’s going on.

  • Hey, Delicious Brains here. We acquired Advanced Custom Fields from Elliot back in June.

    To give everyone some clarity here – the ACF Repeater addon was available as a premium addon to ACF a few years back, and would have been the plugin you had installed up until yesterday. The latest version of that addon is 2.1.0.

    Unfortunately, www.remarpro.com approved a plugin with the same folder name as our ACF Repeater addon (acf-repeater), which had the version 5.10.2. This meant WordPress would auto-upgrade you to that version of the plugin.

    Whilst there was nothing malicious about that version of the plugin, because it has since been deactivated by the WordPress team, it may have deactivated on your site too.

    To resolve this, you’ll need to re-download the latest original version of the ACF Repeater addon (version 2.10.0) from your account and re-upload it to your site. It will need to be activated if it isn’t already.

    Sorry for the inconvenience. We’re working with the WordPress plugins team to make sure this can’t happen again with any of our legacy addons. If you have any other issues, or trouble downloading the original plugin from your account please let us know.

    really, thank you very much for that clarification!

    The question would be, why someone would “hijack” this folder name and push out a “somehow changed” version of this premium plugin.

    You wrote “Whilst there was nothing malicious about that version of the plugin […]” – do you mean that in this version 5.10.2’s code, there is no malicious code to be found? Then we could stop rolling out backups to all of our sites what we just have started.
