Hi, I installed Black studio TMCE a few weeks ago and it worked fine after some twiking. Today I noticed all the information including ads disappeared. The content are still in the visual editor but nothing visual on the site, just a grey line.

I am using wp 4.0 and avenue theme, with window 8.1.

    Can anyone help?

    thanks in advance

Could you post a link to your website?

Hello! Ultra-B, I feel your pain.
I also have the same problem. Everything is lost.

I am a total newbie but asked my web developers. I understand that content in widgets is not backed up in files or db. My client is quite upset that all her homepage is gone. One person suggested typing all content in manually, no cutting/pasting. I tried that for a few lines and it seems to work but I need to find the original content.
    Here is the site… https://daynakurtz.com

That is a terrible solution. It will take me hours and I cannot bill the client for problems with a plugin on her site that I started.

Does anyone have a better idea?

@ultra-b I tested the plugin with avenue theme and I had no issues. Probably your problems are caused by another plugin. Please see our FAQ about troubleshooting.

@diane4wp Widgets data are saved in the database, more precisely in the wp_options table in a record having option_name = widget_black-studio-tinymce (the serialized format id handled by WP directly, as for other widgets, and not directly by the plugin itslef). Database backups are a site owner’s responsibility, and they are recommended to allow recovery in case of data loss. Anyway in this case it’s very very unlikely that the data loss may have been caused by our plugin. I took a look at your site and I saw you have a BSTW widget on the home page, so it’s look like working even if I find that the markup is a bit odd. Since you are using a custom theme, I can not provide support for it, so you should ask for help to who developed the theme.

    Thanks Marco,
You have just gone back and retraced my steps and saw that it was due to the new laptop that had adverts removed by a software. So you are right, there nothing wrong with the plugin.

Thanks again for getting back so quickly.

Diane4wp, I am a newbie too and this community has being very helpful, sorry we are in the same jam.
