All category archive pages don’t work

  • Hi,
    I do nat have an explanation but “suddenly” all my category archive pages don’t work anymore. My website is set up in three languages (DE, EN, RU), none of them is working properly regading archive pages.
    Tag pages work.
    Here is one example And the same archive in English
    I changed the permalink structure a couple of days ago to not show “category” anymore, but that worked already for some days.
    So does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

    Hi, yes, after a couple of hours of research I solved the problem.
    There is an incompatibility between WPML and Yoast. If you decide to take off the /category/ base via Yoast – you will experience the same like me, the category archives of the secondary languages will inexplicably break.
    So don’t touch /category/ in Yoast, or if you already did, set it back to default, deactivate Yoast, clear the cache, activate Yoast again and then install this plugin: No category base (WPML)
    It’s made for exactly his problem, and it worked perfectly for me.
