All categorized posts showing as uncategorized

    Please help

    All of my posts are showing as uncategorized on my website. Also, if I edit a post in the dashboard the post has uncategorized selected and reverts back to this even if I try to update the post by selecting it’s proper category. However, if I go in to categories in the dashboard all my categories show as having post counts against them as they should with 0 post counts under uncategorized. Looking in MyPHPAdmin, all my categories are there in the wp_terms table and the wp_term_relationships table shows the object_id with the correct corresponding term_taxonomy_id’s. How can this be? I think this might be since a WordPress upgrade last year. I did use a plugin to convert all my tags to categories but it worked flawlessly up until the WP update (apologies I don’t remember which wp update I did when this error occurred. I know it wasn’t the latest update. Do to the security patches I do not want to revert back to older versions of WP to fix this.

    Is there any SQL code I can use to solve this? Is there another SQL table I should be looking at?

    I have resolved this issue. It was a plugin called Category Import by Jiayu (James) Ji which I had used just once to create a ton of categories. After deactivating it, everything displays properly on the site and dashboard.
