Hi all. When I visit my site, I can see that all animations (fade ins and a video background) are missing. This makes all elements that were supposed to fade in, stay hidden. Please, how do I fix this? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all plugins and updating everything to the newest version.

The console shows a lot of “jQuery is not defined” errors. I recently updated to Elementor and installed WordFence since we had some trouble with random links on the site. I don’t know if these things are related. I have tried deactivating WordFence.

    The plugins I use are: Cookie Notice – 1.3.2, Custom Fonts – 1.2.3, Elementor – 3.0.1
Formidable Forms – 4.06.03, Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights – 7.12.2
    Ocean Extra – 1.6.5, Polylang – 2.8.1, Polylang Connect for Elementor – 1.0.0, Smush – 3.6.3, Wordfence Security – 7.4.10, WP Fastest Cache – 0.9.0.9, WP Video Popup – 2.8.

Please help. We are a small non-profit for marginalized youths in Denmark. Having our website break like this is a big thing for us, since we run on charitable donations through the site.

  • Hi,

Jquery is not loading correctly, apparently.
Try the ‘Enable Jquery migrate Helper’ plugin and check if it helps.

To rule out an issue with the update you can create a staging website and rollback:

Let me know if it helps.

    Hi gabhelper,

Thank you so much for helping. I managed to solve the issue by iteratively de- and reactivating every plugin. Turns out the “sinner” was “fastest WP cache”. It was probably just incompatible with the update, since its had been quite a while since the last update to the plugin.

    Thanks for the answer!

    /Nicolai
