Alipay: invalid currency usd

    Hi there,

    I install the WooCommerce Stripe Gateway plugin in my website and enable the Stripe Alipay.

    In the test mode, payment via Alipay works well, but in live mode, it comes out an error when checkout via Alipay: “Invalid currency: usd. The payment method alipay does not support this currency in your region.”

    My Stripe is connected to a HKD bank account;
    The website checkout currency is USD;
    I pay via Alipay with a China (CNY) billing address.

    Would you please let me know if this error is at Stripe’s side or at the plugin’s side? If it’s at the plugin’s side, what can I do to resolve this issue?

    That is a Stripe error. Please contact Stripe support in regards to your matter.

    @subtlehk – As Roy mentioned it’s likely an account issue. From Stripe’s Alipay documentation:

    Alipay supports like-for-like settlement only so the currency of Alipay sources must match your account’s default currency.
