alignment slideshow

I try to align the slider on the left side and the text on the right side. Therefor I’ve added this code to te settings of the style I’m using:

.slideshow_container {
float: left;
margin: 10px 10px 10px 0;
}

But it’s not working. What am I doing wrong?
