• I’m working with a Twenty Seventeen child theme, and when I add a margin to align site title, description and navigation with the default content width, I get a horizontal scroll bar. I really want everything to align vertically, but it’s driving me crazy. I would rather have made the content wider, but couldn’t find a way to that either. I am working on a local host.

Thanks in advance for any help offered!

I searched the forum, but found nothing concerning this problem.

We can help you align the site title/ description and navigation another way, but we need to see your website.

    Hi Andrew,
Thanks for responding. This site is on a local host thru MAMP. is there another way for you to see what’s going on?

Try emulating the relevant Webpage through a sandbox tool like CCSDesk.com

    Hi Andrew,
What exactly do you need? In cssdesk, I see an area for html and another for css.
I’ve been using the additional css in the customizer to make these alignments.
    What files should I copy?

    Thanks!

View your webpage and right click on the page until you see the option named “View source”. Press this and you’ll get a window full of code. Copy all of that code and paste it into the “HTML” section of CCSDesk.

Okay, now what? I downloaded an html file, but how do I get it to you?

Once you’ve put that code into the HTML section of CSSDesk, press the “Share” button and a URL will generate beside that button. You can tell us that URL.

Sorry I think I’m not conveying myself clearly.

    1. View your webpage;
    2. Right click on the page somewhere and press “View source
    3. A new window will appear with all the code of your page. Copy all of that code
    4. Go to CSSDesk.com and paste it into the “HTML” section
    5. Press the “Share” button in CSSDesk
    6. A new URL will appear to the left of the “Share” button, copy that URL and paste it here in this thread

    Sorry Andrew,
I’m on a mac, and I don’t see View source, I see Page Source when in Firefox/tools/developer/page source. I copied all that code and followed your directions, but when I press share, the code your looking for does not show up.
