If you don’t wanna use socials and tagline in the header, just don’t display them, for example via css:

.navbar-inner .social-block,
.navbar-inner .site-description {
display: none;
}

So remove:
.navbar-inner .social-block,

You can do this easier using the Customiz’it! button and working through the different panels to check/uncheck what you need/don’t need

You have:

.social-block a {
    background: none repeat scroll 0 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);
    display: none;
    text-decoration: none;
    text-shadow: none;
}

Remove display:none; which is hiding them.
