Hi, i would like to know if it is possible to disable e-mail alerts for plugins with the auto-update option enabled.

My issue now is that i receive (critical) e-mail alerts from plugins which will resolve itself with the auto-updater from WordPress.

I don’t need an alert if it will resolve itself within an acceptable time. I’ve got 200+ sites with Wordfence installed. Which means i receive 200+ e-mails for every critical found.

Of course for most of the 3d party plugins i manually check and i do appreciate those alerts. But not for “trusted” developers, that’s why the auto-updater is enabled.

Perhaps it is possible to exclude specific plugins from the alert functionality?

I could for example exclude an entire folder within the “advanced scan options” like /wp-content/plugins/[plugin]/* but would that also exclude it from any alerts?

Hi @franklincmn, thanks for your questions.

This area is currently an active development request as Wordfence scans will sometimes run and detect outdated plugins before auto-updates have had a chance to run (depending on the quantity of traffic to the site triggering WP Crons). Unfortunately there’s currently no way to pick specific plugins, or auto-update as a criteria, just the severity strength. Naturally “critical” means you receive the least emails but I appreciate it sounds like you’ve tried this already.

I’ve naturally passed your additional thoughts and requirement for this feature to the team as any ongoing work receiving feedback from multiple customers can strengthen its case. Here on the forums I’m unable to ever provide regular feedback or precise delivery dates on development work but can suggest checking our changelog when new versions of the plugin are released.

    Many thanks,
    Peter.
