Alert when navigating away from unsaved custom post type?

  • Hi,

    When I click the back button on my browser with an unsaved post/page I get the following alert:

    “Do you want to leave this site. Changes you made may not be saved”

    When I do the same on a custom post type I don’t get an alert. Is this normal? Or is there a setting I need to change so that custom post types get the alert too like posts/pages?

    Your site behavior is normal.

    WordPress detects you made a change (you might have done it without noticing) and gives you a warning to save your changes.

    As a rule of thumb, do not use the back button of the browser navigation; use WP menu instead.
