Hi, I have the following structure:
A “Yearly Album” with the following Albums in it – 2016 & 2015.
The Albums 2016 and 2015 have other albums in, by month, and within those there are the galleries for each month.

I am currently displaying the “2016” album here:
    https://growingforall.org.uk/photos/
and as you can see it show the months for that year. That is how I want it.

However, as soon as I then put that “2016” album into the “Yearly” album so that I can show the different albums grouped by years, then it doesn’t display anything. (Obviously I have adjusted the gallery to display “yearly”.

Do you have any advice, I don’t understand why this doesn’t work.

    Many thanks,
    Richard

@richyrich – Are you inserting a new album using “Yearly” as the source, or are you modifying an existing inserted display?

You seem to be following the correct logic but there may be something in how you are inserting the displays that could be just a bit off.

    Thanks!

    Hello Cais,
Many thanks for your quick reply.

I created the album Yearly after the others, and then added the 2016 & 2015 albums into it.

@richyrich – Can you provide a link to where you have inserted the “Yearly” album as the display so we can look at this first-hand?

    Thanks!

    Thanks,

I’ve created a new page showing my Yearly Album, with the Album 2016 in it:
    https://growingforall.org.uk/photos-2/
and then when I click on the 2016 Album I get a blank page.

Weirdly, the original 2016 Album page here:
    https://growingforall.org.uk/photos/
which was showing the months in 2016 as intended stopped working as soon as I created the other page!!??

    Many thanks,
    Richard

@richyrich – There could be a plugin conflict going on here or at least it should be ruled out. Have you tried deactivating all of your plugins, clearing your browser cache (and site caches if you are using a caching plugin), then reactivating the NextGEN plugin?

If this fixes the problem then it was likely one of the deactivated plugins that was causing an issue. Now, retrace your steps activating each plugin and re-checking to see if the problem returns. If it does then that last activated plugin was probably the one. Keep reactivating and in most cases it is also best to keep checking after each plugin, sometimes there may be more than one plugin on a site that will create an issue. If you do find one (or more) plugins causing this problem we would greatly appreciate your feedback on them so the developers may address them as soon as they can.

Also to note, in rare cases it may be the theme itself that is causing a conflict so while you have just the NextGEN plugin activated you might consider temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress Twenty series themes and see if this corrects the issue as well.

If the problem still persists after all of this we would still want to know, even more so, as we will still want to sort out the issue and may need additional details.

    Thanks!

    Thank you Cais,

I’ve now tried both of those things:
All plugins decativated (cache etc cleared) and recativating Nextgen and still no joy.
Likewise didn’t work with Theme 2016 either.

    What do you think?

    Best,
    Richard

@richyrich – Thanks, let’s carry on the conversation there for the time being.

    – Cais.

I have the same issue, and it happens only when I enable or use the plus version of the plugin.
at this point I fully Uninstalled all the NGG and deleted databases for them, and reinstalled the NGG and NGG plus.
    i have a Photo(album) and within it I place 2012, 2013, …2016 (albums) into them i place galleries.
I placed shortcode to Photos page for Photos (album), i can see the yearly albums, but when I open the albums, I do not see galleries in them, i disables Jetapack, that does not help.
Let me know, i had this issue in a long ago, and for this reason did not switch to Plus version. However today i got some time on my hands and decided to try to switch to it. and fail after fail, it just does not want to work for me at all. ??
Will be waiting for your answers,
Thank you, and I highly appreciate your attention and care!
