Akismet not working with Contact Form 7

You can simulate a positive (spam) result with the?comment_author?set to?akismet-guaranteed-spam?or?comment_author_email?set to?[email protected].

The Akismet API will always return a?true?response to a valid request with one of those values. If you receive anything else, something is wrong in your client, data, or communications. Thank you very much for your prompt reply. I have tried with [email protected] and it worked, ie. I received the error message saying that it was blocked. However, I tried to play around with other fake emails with @example.com or “viagra” in the email and they were still added to mailing contact list – were they not supposed to be blocked as well?

The only email address that generates a guaranteed spam result from Akismet is [email protected].

Akismet is constantly learning and adapting to genuine spam patterns that are happening right now. It uses many factors to determine whether a submission is spam, and testing with fake emails won’t guarantee a spam result from Akismet.
