Akismet freezes WP Dashboard

    For the past couple of days, I noticed that I my WP Dashboard on two of my WP websites would freeze: I was unable to reorganize the Dashboard’s widgets, some would go in an infinite loading loop, buttons of the WP interface could not be clicked, and so on.

    I deactivated my plugins one after the other (starting with JetPack which often causes this type of issue), and when I deactivated Akismet, everything was back in order: Dashboard unfroze, and buttons could be clicked. Also, I noticed a slight improvement in loading time. To be sure, I also deactivated Akismet from website #2 and Dashboard became accessible again.

    I will try and completely uninstall Akismet to verify if the issue was not caused by a corrupted script, and not a sudden compatibility problem (I have been repairing/optimizing my DB for the past day, so this may have caused the issue too).

    I’ll keep you posted on my progress.

    Okay, I uninstalled Akismet, cleaned my cache, reinstalled Akismet, activated it, and the Dashboard issue came back: can’t “grab” widgets and reorganize them, some widgets like EDD load in an endless loop, and the interface’s buttons in the top bar are inactive.

    I disconnected Akismet, and Dashboard works.
