  • Try deleting and re-uploading the wp-content/plugins/akismet/akismet.php file?

Tried that but still can’t open Akismet config page.

It jsut keep tryign to open it and than just show error pahe telling me that browser can’t open that page.

Can you give more details about that error page?

Just standard error page in IE. Nothing specific from WordPress or Akismet.

“This program cannot display the webpage

    Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
    The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address. “

(Standard error page in IE7. I tried to open page in Opera and Firefox but same thing there.)

And this happens when you’re in admin and select Plugins:Akismet Configuration?

What if you manually enter the url with the following path: wp-admin/plugins.php?page=akismet/akismet.php ?

    (@fkranjce)

Same thing. I can’t open it. In status bar of IE it says “Waiting for page: ….url… “.

Same happen when i click in admin page on “Akismet Configuration” or on message on top of page “Akismet is not active. You must enter your WordPress.com API key for it to work.” or if i enter url manually.

    BTW.
I didn’t mention previously….version of aksimet plugin is 1.15 and WordPress is 2.0.3.

Are you on an IIS web server?

I don’t know. I am using free web hosting on https://www.byethost.com/.

I don’t dont know much about web servers but i see on their page apache http server is mentioned. I hope that will help.

I wonder if your getting the same errors that I am getting. I try deleting and re uploading. But ever time I tried to load the page to entry in my API key, line errors on 105, 107, 108 fill the page.

I bet IE doesn’t get this far.

    Nothing? ??

    Noone have simmilar experiences?

    I’m having the same problem.
    I’m on IIS.

When I click the button to enter the key, the page stays there trying to load forever.

Where is the key stored? Isn’t it possible to enter the key manually somewhere?

I was using Akismet 1.14. I tried to upgrade to 1.15, but can’t see the Akismet Configuration page in the Plugins tab. I can however access the page directly and update the API key
    wp-admin/plugins.php?page=akismet/akismet.php

Anyway, in the Manage page, I do not see the Spams tab which lists all the spams caught. How come???

Note: I have deleted the 1.14 Akismet file before upgrading to 1.15.

I have exactly the same problem. A blank page every time I try to access to Akismet configuration, so I cannot activate de API key.
