    go to wordpress.com and register that way you should find your api at your registered blog

    Thank you Seich for pointing me in the right direction only been using wordpress for a few days so still new. I did do a search but after reading for 2 hours through the search results my eyes began to hurt.
    Once again thank you for your help

    Funny – the very first link in the list I provided for you had the exact same answer that Seich gave you. Oh well.

    Not to mention, in the Plugins subpanel of any WP blog there is this description:

    Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web serivce to see if they look like spam or not. You need a WordPress.com API key to use this service.

    Why nobody reads it and why nobody clicks on that link instead of asking the 1000th “api” question…?
