akismet and wordpress key

    OK, my blog is up, and running, and I am delighted with the progress. But every time I go to my Dashboard, I am reminded that Akismet isn’t active. And since my blog isn’t on the WP servers, I never obtained one.

    Can somebody tell me how to get one?

    Lots of stuff about this, but since search seems to be fairly nonfunctioning lately:

    Go to wordpress.com, register for a username not a blog, and you get the api key.

    Thanks, and sure I searched but didn’t find it. Now I have it. I never thought about looking for *.com, to tell you the truth.
