• Hi, there!! I hope you’re having an amazing week!

I have a client that is having major issues with receiving spam through their funnel. reCAPTCHA is not catching the spam because the IPs are local and the information being submitted is 100% legit people’s information, but when my client calls the leads, they say they never contacted them. I signed up with ClickCease but the IPs are not showing on their logs so it appears the traffic is going directly to our site somehow. Whatever’s happening is complex. I’ve been researching and reaching out to multiple people, experts and still don’t have a solid solution after weeks of trying to figure it out. I’m losing my mind and my client is probably losing confidence in me.

We use Akismet on all of our other sites and it works beautifully. Based on what my developer has told me in the past, Akismet has a conflict with our funnel:

    – We have a multi-step funnel that uses Gravity Forms.?

    – Hidden Recaptcha is not working and we can’t have people answering puzzles for every step of our form.

    – Can you take a look at the URL above and start with the zip code field to review our funnel and needs?

    – Do you offer a work around or solution for something like we’ve built?

I’ve been looking into hcaptcha and other Google Ads bot blocking softwares but they are $500+ per month which is ludicrous for one site with this issue.

Ok. I think that’s all. Thank you for your time. Hoping you might have a solution! PLEASE HALP! ??

Hi, I don’t see any missed spam reports from your site; can you mark some of the submitted forms as spam so that we can use them to start researching whether Akismet can catch them more reliably?

Sorry if I wasn’t clear ?? We do not have Akismet installed because it causes issues with our multi step/form funnel. My question is if you have a work around for this. My developer said that the conflict is basically a security feature you have built in but it prevents real traffic from getting through.

I’m not sure exactly what issue that would be (although I can think of a few possibilities that I’ll look into), but if you’re getting form submissions of legitimate-seeming information that just turns out to be false, I don’t think Akismet will be helpful. It’s more likely to be competitors wasting their/your time than it is to be spammers, and that kind of behavior isn’t really what Akismet detects.
