Akismet 5.0 not compatible with Ajax login

(I’m reporting an issue I managed to momentarily solve by downgrading Akismet 5.0 to 4.2.5, which was preventing the ajax login modal from showing on some pages)

I have three almost identical websites (same listing theme and WP version) running Akismet 5.0. I noticed today the following when trying to log in to my site with Ajax login (via a custom link located in the menu):

– Logging in from a listing page (ex: https://www.XYZ.com/listing/starbucks/) on a mobile device: nothing happens/ajax login modal or WP login page do not show
– Logging in from a category or tag page (ex: https://www.XYZ.com/listing-category/food-truck/) on a mobile device: : works well/ajax login modal or WP login page show
– Logging in from a listing page on a desktop: works well/ajax login modal or WP login page show

I deactivated/reactivated my plugins and theme, and the only one triggering this issue was Akismet. When Akismet is deactivated I can log in from any page on my site. Same if I’m running Akismet 4.2.5 or earlier. But Akismet 5.0 does not allow me to log in from specific pages.

I’m not sure if this is something you could check/reproduce at the level of your plugin. I reached out already to the editors of Akismet to let them know about this incompatibility between Akismet 5.0 and Login With Ajax.

I’ll let you know if I hear from them. In the meantime I’m running Akismet 4.2.5 and it seems to be playing nice with your plugin.
