At the top of every page there is that yellow notification bar.
Right now it says. “Akismet is almost ready. You must enter your Akismet API key for it to work.”

    1. Do I need Akismet on a cms non-comment enabled site?

    2. How do I disable that yello bar?

    Any advice is appreciated.

Not if comments are turned off everywhere, no.

Turn Akismet off from the plugins menu.

    Simple enough, thank you.

May I ask another question that is off the topic because I have tried three times in this matter and reveived no responses.
I performed a manual install on Plesk.
I got the config file to connect.
    I got WP to install.

I got ‘Warning: Compilation failed, bla bla, in simple-pie.php line 11043’ on the “plug-ins” and “other word press news” menus on the dashboard.

Whatever page I set as the static front page would be the only one that would work. When I added the other pages the template drop down could see the templates on the server, but I would get a 404 Page Not Found on any sub pages I tried to view.

So I had the tech guy move the site to another host within this Plesk company. The comp errors went away from the dashboard but the sub pages still don’t work.

Do you think it’s a setting on the server?
Could it have anything to do with the config.php?

I would speculate that your server is failing when it tries to process the RSS feeds on those pages. Both those menus (areas?) are rss calls to other sites, and if they can’t be resolved, they won’t work.

Actually I re-wrote the module configuration with a .htaccess file I added to the server. Then saved the permalink settings. Your idea helped me figure out what isn’t the problem. Thanks!
