• In the Ajax Search settings, I removed Page and Post, and added my CPT categories, to make a search bar for my CPT. This works great. But now my main wordpress search bar has taken on these attributes too — so the main search finds nothing, other than CPT content.

Can I not have a unique search via Ajax Search, and the regular wordpress search via the regular wordpress search? Is it by design that Ajax Search settings takes over completely?

Alternatively, can I modify the Ajax Search shortcode with parameters to constrain it to specific CPT or Meta fields?

Please try turning off this option. That should avoid a default override for the searches via the base search queries. If all goes well, that should solve the issue.

    All the best,

Thank you. Unfortunately I’ve since removed the plugin and used a different solution.
