[NSFW] AJAX Refresh Issue

    Hello!

    We’re using WooCommerce Side Cart with a free gifts plugin (add product X to basket, get product Y free). Until recently, this was working perfectly, however although X gets added to basket fine with AJAX, product Y only appears in the basket after a page refresh.

    I’ve troubleshooted by changing themes, disabling plugins etc and it only works as expected after disabling WooCommerce Side Cart.

    Is it possible a recent update to this plugin introduced this issue? It seems there’s a delay/timing issue somewhere but any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

    There is nothing side cart can do about it.
    It simply adds product to cart & request woocommerce to give the cart contents. There is no functionality of its own.
    Looks like gift plugin does not expect ajax behavior and is looking for a refresh.
    You can either
    1) Disable ajax add to cart from settings
    2) Go to advanced settings & try enabling “Refresh cart”

    Hey @xootix,

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    It was working until very recently so my assumption was that one of the plugins is the cause – thanks for confirming that Side Cart is probably not it.

    OceanWP support, Free Gifts plugin support and now yourself have all said that the issue is somewhere else, so is it possible that the issue lies in our WordPress/WooCommerce database rather than a specific plugin?

    This is getting beyond any expectation for your further support but the sudden loss of functionality between the plugins just doesn’t make much sense.
