Ajax interferes with EDD shopping cart?

    Hi, first of all very neat simple plugin that would be pretty much exactly what I’d need to create a chat room for logged in users ??

    However, the platform I use to sell memberships is Easy Digital Downloads and after installing the chat plugin I wondered why I can’t add products to cart anymore.

    Turns out when I deactivate the chat plugin the shopping cart works normally, I can add and remove products from the cart. When Simple Ajax Chat is active, the add/remove from cart-actions (?) are not working.

    I did put the URL of the chat page to “Targeted loading” in SAC settings…

    Rather unfortunate, any tips how to approach this problem? Thanks!

    There must be some JavaScript conflict between SAC and EDD. Are you noticing any errors when you inspect the code? That would be the only real way of finding out what’s happening.

    Thanks for the fast reply Jeff,

    I’m afraid I’m not that code savvy to inspect javascript stuff… If you have the time you can check out this quick example I set up with EDD and SAC installed:

    There is one “product” on the home page, the Purchase-button is on the product page, it adds the product to cart and goes straight to checkout. The problem is replicated here, by pressing Purchase no product is added to cart…

    Thanks, I took a look but not seeing any SAC form.. also not seeing any JavaScript errors. So the issue may be some other conflict happening. You also could inspect your site’s error/debug log(s). They will contain descriptions of any errors or warnings happening behind the scenes. Also, here is a guide that explains how to troubleshoot WordPress, plugins, themes, etc.

    Hi, unfortunately I couldn’t find a solution, I had success with a different chat plugin though. Nevertheless, SAC would otherwise be a great option, and thank you Jeff for your activity on this support forum ??
