For a few weeks, I’ve had a strange issue where my site health always says “should be improved” because Jetpack Boost reports outdated critical CSS, even after I immediately regenerate it.

After troubleshooting with both Jetpack Support and my host, it was determined that the root cause of the issue is a plugin conflict with AIOS. I do not wish to disable AIOS; as such, could you determine the AIOS setting(s) that are causing the conflict and a path forward for resolution? Thanks.

    Hi @nerdynel17

XML RPC related two settings please uncheck first.

WP Security > Firewall > Basic firewall rules tab > Completely block access to XMLRPC, Disable pingback functionality from XMLRPC Please check both and Save

IF still an issue try disable one by one below and cross check most other plugin conflict was due to these AIOS settings.

Deny bad query string – WP Security > Firewall > Addition firewall rules tab. Deny bad query strings: uncheck the checkbox and save

Advanced char filter – WP Security > Firewall > Addition firewall rules tab. Enable advanced character string filter :uncheck the checkbox and save

5g firewall rules – WP Security > Firewall > 6G Blacklist firewall rules tab. Enable legacy 5G firewall protection uncheck the checkbox and save

6g firewall rules – WP Security > Firewall > 6G Blacklist firewall rules tab. Enable 6G firewall rules – uncheck the checkbox and save

Of the settings you mentioned, I only had the 6G firewall and related settings enabled. I turned 6G and related settings off, per your suggestion, but I still have the issue.

    Hi @nerdynel17

Ok, can you please let me know more details regarding that outdated critical CSS error?

I will try to cross-check from my end issue with Jetpack Boost plugin.

    Sure:

To make things easier, I have uploaded screenshots of Site Health and Jetpack Boost (see links below).

    Site Health notification

    Jetpack Boost notification

NOTE: The Jetpack Boost notification is incorrect – I have not published any new posts or pages recently. However, this is the message that keeps appearing each time I update Critical CSS.

    Hi @nerdynel17

If I cross-check by installing Jetpack boost, I do have most settings for Firewall, WP REST API restriction etc on. It generates the critical CSS file and Tools > Site health does not show that error.

Can you please deactivate the AIOS plugin from plugins list and then try regenerate and cross-check the issue is solved? So we are 100% sure that it was AIOS plugin which makes issue and I can cross check in more detail.

    Hi:

Unfortunately, deactivating AIOS and then regenerating did not resolve the issue (but curiously, when troubleshooting with my host a few days ago, they didn’t see the issue after deactivating AIOS).

I tried flushing my caches (I have some caching plugins active), but the issue persists.

For now, I have restored AIOS and the firewall.

    Hi @nerdynel17

Ok, Yes please try to deactivate them ( cache plugins) one by one also other plugins, and cross-check.

As it is working fine after deactivating AIOS and in my local also can not replicate the issue, It seems not an AIOS issue

    Regards
