If I follow the AIO file security, then my site health under Tools says:

‘Background updates ensure that WordPress can auto-update if a security update is released for the version you are currently using.

Passed No version control systems were detected.
Passed Your installation of WordPress doesn’t require FTP credentials to perform updates.
Error Some files are not writable by WordPress:
    wp-admin/index.php`

And if I set the 664 permissions on the wp-admin/index.php to make wordpress, then AIO says I’m not secure.

    Any advice?

    Hi,

And if I set the 664 permissions on the wp-admin/index.php to make wordpress, then AIO says I’m not secure.

Our plugin runs a standard file check permission against the default standards set up by WordPress. If you decide to change your file permissions to something more stricter, then that is fine as well. You can ignore the warnings.

The issue is that AIO wants the file permissions for wp-admin/index.php to be more strict than what WP wants. If I follow what AIO wants, then WP cannot update itself.

Which permission are you referring too?

    Thank you

AIO wants wp-admin/index.php to be 644 and WP wants 664

Hi, if that is how you want to set up your file permission then go ahead and ignore what AIOWPS states.

    Thank you
