ai1ec Generating Many Huge Cache Files

Our website has been completely messed up since some sort of hiccup happened editing ai1ec events a few weeks ago. We have since tried just about everything, including moving to managed WordPress hosting.
The calendar has generated more than 6,000 cached css files in the last 3 days, which is far in excess of what our website traffic would be. As soon as they are deleted, it starts generating them again rapidly. The cached php files in the twig subdirectory are also growing rapidly. I’m at a loss as to what to do.
