Hello, i have read all posts before regarding the 403 problem and also watched your screencast. Nothing helps.

    – I configure the twitter API with version 1 and all r/w access.
    – I have regenerated the keys several times
    – If I connect the plugin to twitter, everything works as expected.

But if I create a post and click on the button “Share Now” a popup window opens the says “Failed” and “View Log”. If I click “View Log” it shows “Twitter Connection Problem. error code: 403”.

Can you advise me how to get the plugin working ? Thanks in advance.

    Cheers Chris

    Hi @chrzimmer,

    Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
It seems your created Twitter APP didn’t have Elevated access. Firstly, please ensure Elevated Access to your Twitter Developer Account. For checking this, go to Products > Twitter API v2 > Elevated. Check this screenshot. Please note that you need Elevated access to your Twitter App.

If you have Elevated Access, then create an app from the Standalone Apps section with the OAuth 1.0a version. And allow the Read and write and Direct message permission from the App Settings

After that, please regenerate the API Key and API Secret Key once and connect your Twitter with the regenerated API Key and API Secret Key from SchedulePress settings (after removing the existing one on the SchedulePress). And retry to share the post on Twitter.

Here I created a Twitter APP with API version 1 and allowed the permission. After that, connect with the SchedulePress and share a post with instant share. Check this screencast.

I hope this will help you. Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks!

Thank you very much for your support. Two things were new to me :
    – need of elevated access
    – making it a standalone app
I deleted my old app, followed all you steps and then connected again the plugin to the API. Unfortunately there is again an “Twitter Connection Problem. error code: 403”.

    Something else to do ?

One thing changed … in the popup boxes now appears my logo from the twitter account. This was not the case before.

    Hi @chrzimmer,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. I have checked on my site it is working well. Check this screen record.

Please regenerate the API Key and Secret Key once. And then, connect to Twitter on your SchedulePress settings once (firstly, please remove your existing Twitter connection from Settings) and retry once. I hope your issue will be fixed.

Let us know how it goes. Thanks for your patience!
