• I recently upgraded to WP3 without a hitch.
However, while i’m editing a post or creating a new one, I can not add tags. If i type in a tag and hit enter, nothing happens – same deal if i enter a few in and press the “Add Tag” button.

The only way I can add tags at the moment is through quick edit.
Also, the section above the tags where you can change the status of the post “Published, Private etc etc” does not work at all.

Any ideas? I’ve tried disabling all plugins and going through each one and still no luck.

  • Sorry.. that’s IE 7

Try it with Firefox or Chrome.

OK, it works fine with Chrome.

Does that help identify what the problem is using IE 7, or does that just mean the resolution is “don’t use IE 7” ?

I’m not aware of any specific issues between WP and IE 7, but at least we know that it’s just the browser. I have a feeling that it may be related to the browser’s configuration, but as a Mac user with no IE user experience I can’t help past that. It’s possible that upgrading to IE 8 may resolve the issue, but I can’t guarantee it.

I notice with Safari and Chrome, the text entry box has a little “glow” around it when clicked. I don’t see that with IE.

That’s a nifty feature in Webkit (the backbone of Safari and Chrome). It just highlights the active text box in case you get distracted and lose your place.
