    Yes, I did upgrade my theme right after.

    I’m sorry but as you are using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developer/vendor. We do not support commercial themes here.

    Then what has happened is because you switched themes; the widgets areas and where they are placed in a layout is controlled withing the theme. You will need someone like [moderated – please stop soliciting work] the theme creators to customize your new theme or find a new widget area to put your Language switcher plugin.
