After using the plugin and optimizing the images, the home page looks broken

    I just used the plugin and Optimized all the images, which was around 2000+ and all of a sudden the home page looks broken. I tried deactivating and deleting the Plugin but it looks the same. I used the Bulk Optimizer option under media library, and then this happened. rest of the pages and posts looks fine, its just the home page looks broken. Is there a way to fix this?

    Fixed it myself, the ewww files were saved in the database and once i deleted those folders the site was back to normal.

    Hi @charaninzo what “folders” did you remove that put the site back to normal? While there are always potential conflicts with our front-end Lazy Load and WebP functions, I’m having a hard time imagining how any “folders” would have anything to do with either of those–or how said “folders” would continue to cause issues after EWWW IO was removed.

    If you can provide any additional information or if you can replicate the issue on a staging/test site, I would be more than happy to take a look to see if we can prevent future issues for folks.

    Even after deleting/deactivating the plugin some tables were stored in the database, so I logged into my Cpanel and went to PhpMyAdmin and found two tables that were named Wp_ewww something I don’t remember exactly, once I clicked on drop on those tables and refreshed the website it was back to normal.

    Yeah, that’s about all we leave behind, but that data *should* only ever be used by our plugin.
    I do know I’ve seen other plugins cause issues from issuing (very) inefficient queries on our data tables, but I’ve never seen it affect the front-end before.
    If you do decide to try EWWW IO again, I’d love to see if we could replicate the problem on a staging site and help find the bug.
