Hi @new345543
I hope you’re well today!
I’m very sorry to hear that Hummingbird slowed your site down.
Hummingbird can give a great performance boost but there are some important things to remember:
1. It’s still a plugin which means it’s basically a code that works “inside” the environment that’s meant to optimize and that also means that:
– it still is somewhat restricted by the overall resources of the server
– it may in some cases be also affected by configuration of theme/other plugins (it’s especially important in case of Asset Optimization feature if some plugins or theme/builder are also having some internal optimization options enabled or dynamically generate assets)
2. If the plugin was installed in attempt to “fix” otherwise already slow performance then it’s important first to determine what was the main reason of performance issues: if it’s due to resources (like e.g. server already being on the verge of overload) then the primary reason needs to be addressed first
3. performance is not only about installing performance plugin – there’s many more factors involved that may be related here.
That actually applies to all performance-related plugins, not just our Hummingbird. I’m not saying that to “bounce the ball” but just to provide some additional background.
Now if it comes to this specific issue, we’ll need some more information about site’s configuration as this is always the fundamental starting point.
To provide that, please go to the “Tools -> Site Health” page in site’s back-end, switch to “Info” tab there and click on “Copy site info to clipboard” button. Then please share that copied info in your response here.
Additionally, let us know please what’s the official specification of your current hosting plan (note please: brand/company is not important, just technical information).
We’ll then look into it, run performance test on site and get back to you with more detailed response.
Kind regards,
Adam
