Hi ckadet, re-upload the wp-admin folder from where? I did the automatic upgrade so I never actually uploaded anything in the first place. Are you suggesting I download WordPress 3.0 and take the wp-admin folder from that and overwrite the existing one on the server?

I think he is. Rename your existing wp-admin folder (just in case), then upload the folder from your 3.0 download.

Ok thanks. I tried that, but the behavior is still the same. Please advise.

See “How to deactivate all plugins when not able to access the administrative menus?” on this page.

Hmm I tried that, but when I got to this step:
“Login to your WordPress administration menus”
I tried to login and upon clearing FF cache, refreshing, etc. the login page still doesn’t appear.

I have the same problem, but I can’t even access the back-end…thoughts?

I was able to resolve this by updating my root directory as well as the wp-includes directory. Then, when I went to wp-admin I was prompted to upgrade my database. I did that and now everything (so far) is working fine. Thanks all.

@everythingindie: I am facing the same issue after upgrading to 3.0. Please elaborate on what you did, ie, “..updating my root directory as well as the wp-includes directory..”
    Thank you!

    Have you tried this one…

Edit your wp-config.php file then “comment out” the line that defines WP Super Cache.

If you don’t know what that means, about 10 lines into the file’s code, you should find something that looks like this:

define('WP_CACHE', true); //added by yourname on somedate

change it to this (add two hashmarks to the beginning of the line):

//define('WP_CACHE', true); //added by yourname on somedate

and then save the file. That should restore your dashboard.

Any chance you could direct me to the wp-config file? On my server, all I see is the readme files and on my network, I don’t see any options to access that file on phpMyAdmin…

You should use FTP client, or cpanel (or any interface at your hosting provider) to remote to your server, so you’ll be able to edit the wp-config.php file

Check the Functions.php file for blank lines. Make sure there are no blank lines outside the <?php ?> tags.
