    Hi, mswas!

It looks like the featured image from your latest post might not be tall enough to serve as a background and hold all of the article excerpt.

If you change the featured image to a portrait image, you should find that it displays correctly again. e.g. https://d.pr/i/8rQu

Since you’re displaying one post only in the sidebar, you could alternatively consider using the Genesis Featured Posts widget, with the featured image, title, and excerpts set to display.

Thank you, I will try that when I am back in the office tomorrow. However that is the same image that displayed fine prior to the upgrade. I will also look into the other plug-in you suggest.

Nick that did not work. I set the featured image on that post to be the portrait lab shot and that did not work. I did set up the Genesis Featured Posts widget and will use that in production, but just so you know, the taller featured image in the Genesis Responsive Slider still has the same issue as the shorter one.

Thanks for the update, mswas, and thanks for trying a portrait image – I’m sorry that didn’t work out!

Using the Genesis Featured Posts widget seems like a good workaround if you’re happy to do that. Although it may be possible to tweak the slider CSS and settings to get it to function in your sidebar again, the Featured Posts widget is more likely to produce consistent results in a 250px wide sidebar regardless of the featured image size.
